🤹 A big shout-out to all the single parents out there who are juggling everything daily.

I have been solo parenting for the past few weeks and it's really forced me to be creative with how I fit my health routines into my daily life.

When yourĀ ā€œme-timeā€Ā is crammed into school hours and your day is filled with work, chores, shopping, school admin, life admin (and yes, drowning in WhatsApp messages šŸ™ˆ)… how are you supposed to look after yourself?

But here’s the thing — if we don’t, our capacity to look after everyone else drops fast. Fatigue, stress, and poor health creep in, and suddenly there’s evenĀ lessĀ to give.

After learning the hard way, I’ve realised that protecting my own wellbeing isn’t optional — it’s aĀ non-negotiable.

So, I’ve been experimenting with ways to keep myĀ energy cupĀ topped up, even in the chaos:Ā

šŸŽ¶ Tunes to kick start the day.Ā Ā I pop on music in the morning as we get ready for school - a good energy booster positively charging our nervous systems for the day ahead.Ā

🫧 Fizzy bursts over long workouts.Ā If I can’t fit in a full session, I do 10-15 minute bursts — a walk to the beach and back, 1-2 yoga poses between tasks, halve my strength routine by focusing on one body part e.g. arms, legs, back or chest & abs. It all adds up.

šŸ„—Ā Simple & speedy meals.Ā Quick prep with nourishing basics — I get AI to create a simple & swift weekly meal plan with steamed veggies or salad, oven-baked or grilled protein, good fats (avocado, olive oil, nuts & seeds), wholegrain carbs.Ā ThenĀ order online.

šŸƒ Super Saturday ride-run.Ā I exerciseĀ withĀ my daughter — she rides and I run beside her to get my weekend cardio fix. Exercise + connection = win-win.

šŸ“– Evening wind-down.Ā Once dinner is done, my daughter and I read together in bed (and I try not to fall asleep šŸ’¤ ) - this settles our nervous system and releases oxytocin which promotes better sleep, connection and confidence.

It’s not perfect (and that’s okay). The goal isn’t to doĀ more — it’s to doĀ smarter, in a way that fits the reality of life right now.

To all the parents out there doing their best — you’re not alone. Small, consistent steps really do build the foundation for big energy. ā¤ļø

šŸ‘‰ If you are looking to introduce more healthy habits into your life or workplace but don't know where to start get in touch.
